If there is one car that I hold dear to my heart it would have been my first car. It was a Toyota Corolla. It was brown and a two door with a tan interior. It was a plain car by most standards today but for me it was the best car I ever owned. I could not have been prouder of that car and it never once gave us a problem. I do not ever remember having to have any work done on it at all. Even though I did not change the oil as I should have. It just kept on going. Once I got married it became our one and only car for several years and we depended on it daily. We called it our kick and go because we never even gave it a thought when we put the key in that it would not crank. It just purred and took us where ever we needed to go.

There is something about spring that just makes you want to be outdoors. Everything is so new and fresh. We love to spend time in our garden. It is exciting to see what grows because of your care. Inside we have a holiday tree that changes for the seasons. The lights on our tree will change to Yellow Mini Lights and pinks and greens for the celebration of spring as well as Easter. The decorations will become chicks and bunnies for the onset of Spring as well. Springtime is an exciting time and we like to celebrate it inside and out. The inside colors change to spring colors and we pack up all of the cozy pillows that were on the sofas and the table cloths of the deeper richer colors. Out come the lighter more airy colors to bring the outside in more. Although I enjoy the coziness of the winter months it is always refreshing to bring out the brighter colors. Of course we will be ready when winter comes again for our darker colors but for now we are ready for spring to come so we can pull out our brighter colors and let the sunshine in!

It seems everyday you hear about a decrease in the amount of jobs in the market place. There are few things that signify the colors of Christmas faster then christmas wreaths. We begin decorating our home with the seasonal flowers on the day after Thanksgiving. We can then enjoy then for a couple of months and feel the spirit that comes from them and fills our home. We have enjoyed having them in our home for years and this year we decided to decorate our office with them as well. We had just come from a family meeting where were told that we needed to be responsible and not take chances. That the responsible thing to do is to act our ages. We promised our grandmother that we would so she would not worry so much. We then went to the book store on the corner. We had a coffee and discussed how much better my grandmother felt once we made the promise that we would be careful so she would not have to worry at her advanced age. We were in the checkout when my grandfather approached us and thanked us for listening to grandmother and making her that promise. He looked down at our purchase and smiled. There we were in the book store with a how to mountain bike book in our hand and we both felt like we had swallowed the whole Christmas goose!  He said that he saw that we were taking grandmother’s wish and learning how to do something before we just went out and did it. We both took a sigh of relief.
